So when they joined forces to experiment on a new track, they were destined to create something both audacious and forward-thinking. It\u2019s all there in their collab \u2018Tetrahadron Bomb\u2019,<\/b> which imaginatively redefines the rules of DnB and dubstep. The dynamic banger subverts classic sounds (a 4hero<\/b> break, a sample from Joey Beltram\u2019s \u2018Mentasm\u2019<\/b>) to push the future of both genres.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe set out to create a bass music style track with a slight twist,\u201d<\/i> says Deep N Beeper<\/b>. \u201cWe wanted to stretch the rules of DnB and dubstep, and blur their boundaries a little. We played with some traditional DnB elements and ran them at 140bpm, so it\u2019s definitely different.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n

\u201cWe wanted to create something that reflects what 2020 has been like,\u201d<\/i> adds NJC<\/b>. \u201cThe melodic intro is deceptively peaceful, but then it delves down into the dark side. And then the drop is like returning from lockdown. We\u2019re all going back to \u2018normal\u2019, what that is.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n

That idea is reiterated in the track\u2019s title. It\u2019s a playful reference to the hadron collider, with the events of 2020<\/b> being a glitched reality that\u2019s been caused by a \u2018Tetrahadron Bomb\u2019<\/b>.<\/p>\n

The EP is completed by three other tracks which capture Deep N Beeper\u2019s<\/b> unorthodox creativity, exploring minimalist DnB, broken beats experimentation and downtempo dystopia.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Inspired as much by technology and CGI as he is the golden era of Warp Records<\/b>, Deep N Beeper\u2019s<\/b> eclectic sound darts between future bass, dubstep glitch and alternative. Highlights of his previous releases include the heavily rotated \u2018Snooze With You\u2019<\/b>, his debut studio album \u2018Submerged\u2019<\/b> and collabs with the likes of Paranoid Angel<\/b>, Zac Z a<\/b>nd AMA<\/b>.<\/p>\n

NJC<\/b>, aka Nathaniel James Clarkson<\/b>, has enjoyed a fruitful two decades in music. He initially focused on DnB, releasing via the likes of Function Records<\/b>, Timeless Records <\/b>and L Plates<\/b>, but was always passionate about exploring a range of genres. He founded Ambiel Records<\/b> in 2007<\/b>, a diverse, unconventional and artist-friendly label with the ethos that it\u2019s normal to be different.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
