Nathaniel James Clarkson (NJC) is a prolific producer and composer who bridges the gap between underground bass culture and high-end cinematic audio. A defining figure of the “Ipswich Sound,” he moved seamlessly from the grit of Drum & Bass; as a protégé of genre pioneer Digital, to executive producing with dancehall artist YT on his debut album Straight Outta Britain, the catalyst for the reggae star’s “Best Reggae Artist” win at the Urban Music Awards.

Beyond the club scene, NJC is a powerhouse in sync licensing. With credits spanning Sony ATV, Sonoton, and Extreme Music, his work has featured on global hits including Teen Wolf (MTV), CSI, and Top Gear.

Following a decade long hiatus to focus on health struggles / neurodivergent difficulties and recovery, NJC has returned with a renewed creative vision. Now operating under his production house Ambiel Soundworks, he channels his lived experience into managing emotionally resonant, sonically challenging electronic music.
